What's in a word? Or a title?

Need to choose a title for my dissertation. I know this is working backwards, but it will help me edit.

I don't want to go into instructional design literature right now. And I want this to focus on learning, rather than teaching.

REFINING A GROUP-CENTERED, EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL

OF INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN TO ENHANCE ADULT LEARNING

Or

DEVELOPING/REFINING/EXPLORING A NEW/PROPOSED EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL TO ENHANCE ADULT LEARNING IN GROUPS

So today, this is my choice:

EXPLORING A NEW EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL

TO ENHANCE ADULT LEARNING IN GROUPS

But, as we all know, a colon is required:

EXPLORING KOLB: A NEW EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL

TO ENHANCE ADULT LEARNING IN GROUPS

or

REVISITING KOLB: A NEW EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING MODEL

TO ENHANCE ADULT LEARNING IN GROUPS

What do you think?

  1. I like "Revisiting" but also think about "Reworking" or "Customizing Kolb..."

  2. I like exploring Kolb - or maybe expanding Kolb? I also wonder about an experiential instead of a new experiential ... But you know I don't come at this from the academic perspective!

  3. I think you're right: "new" doesn't really fit.

What I want to say is that Kolb's model is a perfect basic template that can be altered to serve different needs, like adult learners, corporate, therapeutic, probably K12.

My alteration is to reorder a couple of steps and add 2 new steps of my own.

    How do I say that?
